I want to find a travel buddy (or a group of friends) that:
- has enough money to afford a vacation,
- has an interest in minimizing some expenses where possible like rooming together, taking budget airlines
- has similar interests like architecture, local cuisine, exploring the city on foot or public transit
- is around my age, so we can actually have conversations about stuff
- can keep things as just friends without making awkward unwanted sexual advances,
- is a non-smoker, drugs free, and does not have a serious additions (i.e., drinking problem) or other serious red-flag in their personal life that you should disclose to someone you are traveling with in a foreign country.
I discovered that although I need my space, sometimes it's more interesting when you travel with somebody; but I really have no desire to be a sugar daddy and pay someone else's way just so I don't feel alone.
I usually like to travel in May and June, just before the peak season starts and the weather is reasonably nice and warm. I also like to travel between November and February to warm/beach destinations to escape the rainy winter at my home town.
